National Organization for Health Care Service Provision EOPYY), is a National Organization of Greece, whose main scope is the purchase of health services for its insured/ uninsured, pensioners and their dependent members. EOPYY’s main objectives include:- The establishment of rules for design, quality, development, evaluation, safety and efficiency of the health services market, managing and controlling funding
- The establishment of criteria and contract terms for the purchase of health services with institutions of public and private sector as well as affiliated doctors
- The negotiation with all affiliated providers of their remuneration, their contract terms with EOPYY
Project Beneficiary 2 (PB2) – Alexander Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki (ATEITH)- Department Obstetrics, Midwifery
The Alexander Technological Educational Institute (TEI) of Thessaloniki has the following mission: 1. To produce and transmit knowledge through research and teaching,respectively; to prepare students for professional application of knowledge;and to promote arts and culture. 2. To provide higher education and contribute to lifelong learning through modern teaching methods, including distance learning, based on high quality scientific and technological research, according to international criteria. 3. To develop students’ critical thinking and skills; to ensure professional integration of graduates and to create those conditions necessary for the emergence of new researchers. The General Hospital of Edessa is one of the major and largest hospitals of the 3rd Health District of Greece. It renders its health services for 75.000 citizens of the Municipalities of Edessa, Almopia and Skidra. Its main mission is the organize drendering of health services to the citizens within its responsibility area.Among its main priorities are: prompt quality service, provision of information, prevention and respect for citizens’ and patients’ needs, all realised in a friendly and hospitable environment. It has a capacity of 175 active beds distributed as follows: Pathological Department : 63 beds: Pathological Clinic 34 Cardiology Clinic 11 Heart Attack Unit 5 Paediatrics Clinic 13 Surgical Department : 88 beds: Surgical clinic 28 Urological Clinic 9 Ophthalmological Clinic 9 Orthopedics Clinic 24 Gynecological/Obstetrics Clinic 18 Apart from these beds there are another 3 beds in the Intensive Care Unit and 20 in the Artificial Kidney Unit where 65 patients are under Hemodialysis Treatment ,three times per week. There is also an Emergency Department that is on duty daily 24 hours a day, with a 4-bed Short-Stay Hospital and a Regular Outpatients’ Clinic where all non-urgent incidents are met after an appointment with doctors of existing specialties. The Hospital also includes the following Labs and Departments: Radiological, Biopathological and Pathological Anatomy Laboratory. Blood Donation, Physiotherapy, Dispensary, Social Services, Health Visitor, Support for Health Care, Nutrition, Care and Cleaning Staff. Its smooth operation is based on the uninterrupted support of the Administrative and Technical Service, with the help of the Departments of Computer Science and Hygiene Control at the workplace.Project Beneficiary 4 (PB4) Ministry of Health
Ministry of Health (MoH) has the central role in the health system, through its responsibilities for formulating health policy, exerting influence and collecting and using intelligence for development, implementation and monitoring of health policies and enforcing health legislation. The ministry role is: – establishing overall strategic direction and priorities for the health system; -developing legislation, regulations, standards, policies, and directives to support those strategic directions; – monitoring and reporting on the performance of the health system and the health of population; – planning for and establishing funding models and levels of funding for the health care system; and – ensuring that ministry and system strategic directions and expectations are fulfilled (especially with the state-budget funded programs, where MoH is directly involved in their implementation). MoH has the coordinative role with other government sectors through the whole-of-government (WoG) and the whole-of-society (WoS) approaches which are emphasised in the committees and councils established where intersectoral action is needed (Health and Environment Committee led by the Prime Minister and co-chaired by the MoH). The beginnigs of organized health care of the PHI General Hospital – Gevgelijadates back to the early 50’s of the past century. The basic goals of the hospital include: provision of health care; education of the population for prevention of diseases; application of modern methods of treatment; education of the existing staff and new staff; improvement and modernization of the equipment for treatment, and improvement of the hospital conditions for treatment of patients. The seat of the PHI General Hospital is in Gevgelija, and it provides health care on the territories of the municipalities of Gevgelija, Bogdanci, Dojran and Valandovo. The PHI General Hospital – Gevgelija is a public healthcare institution for provision of health care services within the following fields: health care and treatment; specialist-consultative acrivity; physical therapy, and medical rehabilitation. The PHI General Hospital – Gevgelija performs its activities through the following organizational units: Internal Service; Service for Childhood Diseases; Surgical Service; Service for Protection of Women and Mothers; Department for Anestesia; Resuscitation and Intensive Care; Laboratory Activity with Biochemical Laboratory; Pathohistological Diagnostics; Service for Provision of Medications and Sanitation Materials; Autopsy and Biopsy Room; Neuropsychiatric Activity; Service for Eye Diseases; Service for Diseases of the Ear, Nose and Throat; Orthopedic Activity; Activity for Infectious Diseases with Isolation; Service for Physical Medicine and Medical Rehabilitation; General Legal and Economic Service; Technical Service; Service for Transport of Patients with an ambulance to other institutions and health care institutions of tertiary level. In order to successfully perform the obligations to its patients, the PHI General Hospital – Gevgelija has good staffing, with 162 full time employees and 10 volunteers.The Clinical Hospital Bitola is built with technical features and capacity to deliver health services to approximately 300,000 patients from the southwestern region of North Macedonia. The Clinical Hospital of Bitola is a system that follows patients through a specialist-consultative activity to total prevention, diagnosis, curing, treatment and rehabilitation. Clinical hospital Bitola is the leader in health care system insouth-west region of North Macedonia on secondary level.
Our hospital consists twenty four medical departments with 520 beds capacity,including unique departments out of Skopje like Oncology and Nuclear medicine. Number of inpatients is approximately 18000 and 320000 outpatients per year, using medical services from 160 doctors specialists.
Few years ago the Clinical Hospital had received new medical equipment from the Government, worth 5-6 million euros. – magnetic-resonance imaging; – 64 slice computer tomography; – laser device for destruction of kidney stones; – 4D ultrasound equipment for gynecology and cardiology; – respiratory, incubators, respiratory machines; CHB is financed by The National health fund (approximately 10 000 000 Euros per year),funds by the private patients and donations.
